As - polish superhero

During a summer heat wave, all the water in Warsaw is disappearing. What happens? No one knows. This mystery can by solved only by As (The Ace). Polish communist superhero!  Yes, Poland had a superhero, who was to be parody of the American ideals glorified in Superman an other US heroes. The Ace was created in "Hydrozagadka" (Waterpuzzle) movie ifrom 1971 In Hydrozagadga he solved a mystery of disappearing water.. Below You can find some fragment (full of specific humor and propaganda) of this film with The Ace.

 

The Ace is talking about what man should do with women.

"Very good, that You remeber. The women is always exposed to the danger! It's the mens duty to protected the woman and vice versa! give her care"

CIA director in talk with president Regan said about "HIM": "Nobody, in the last 40 years did not harmed communism so much like this Pole". However after 16 year on emigration, when Kukliński returned to Poland, Polish society had split opinions on his actions. He was and still is considered as a hero and a traitor.

When Poland, as one of the members of Warsaw Pact, participated in the attack on Czechoslovakia, Polish communist government organized central Harvest Festival (Dożynki). This festival was to divert attention from this, what Poland had to be involved. Warsaw Pact (at a glance) was military pact controlled by the ZSRR in opposition to NATO. Poland under the pressure of Soviet government, had no choice and  joined ZSSR's military operation.

Today we present a few interesting films from the Polish Film Chronicle from the time of the PRL. All videos are about vehicles but some of them may seem very funny in current days. Especially the one about tuning. Theme of this reportage may cause a slight smile: "from each wreck we do the Fiat' More funny are the possibilities of tuning: galvanized watering can to refill the water, bucket for gasoline, or cabinet TV station.

The history of "Agathon's" life (born in 1911 in Warsaw, died in 2002 in the same city). it's not well known to a broader range of the society. It is a pity, becouse in our opinion, he was a hero. He wrote his biography in the book: "Stanisław Jankowski, the one with the true false Ausweis in Warsaw" (pol. Stanisław Jankowski, Z fałszywym Ausweisem w prawdziwej Warszawie")

1 may celebrations in Hajnówka village (1949)Today in Poland, as in almost whole world, there is holiday of all workers.

 

 

First Polish Worker's Day took place in 1890. Poland was then after partitions and such holidays took place without the consent of invaders. Celebrations very often turned into mass demonstration and confrontation with military and police invader's forces.

Warszawa (Warsaw) was the first polish  car after II World War. The production started in 1951 in august and ended after 22 years in 1973. Finnaly over 250.000 were produced. Warsaw construction based on Russian Gaz M20 Pobieda. License of that car was a 'gift' from Joseph Stalin. This gift cost Poland over 130.000.000 Polish zlotys but it wasn't total cost Additional machinery from Russia cost over 250 milion zlotys.

What is worth to see in Chorzow (pol Chorzów)? Definitely it is Silesian Culture and Recreation Park, which is 620 hectares recreation complex. Here You can find many attractions (we will write about them later), but today we describe one of them - communistic amusement park. The largest one in Poland.
